 Mission Triangle is a nonprofit located in the Triangle with a 30-year history dedicated to expanding the impact of Christian-led nonprofits. Our clients are faith-motivated nonprofits with a general operating budget of $100k – $5 million. Many are grass-roots organizations that developed to meet a particular need they saw and courageously stepped forward to fill. Position Overview

Status: Hourly, part-time 25 hours per week. Potential to be full-time 40-hours per week if both candidate and Mission Triangle believe best.

The Manager of Development Operations coordinates and manages the fundraising efforts of Mission Triangle. They support the Board, Development Committee and Executive Director in scheduling meetings, building relationships, and cultivating Mission Triangle champions. This individual also handles the logistics (invitations, RSVP’s, registration, day of events, receipting and thank you notes.)

Duties and Responsibilities 

Oversee & Execute Champion Engagement 

  • Manage relationships with champions (with exception of major donors which are managed by Executive Director)

  • Care for champions to ensure feel appreciated and valued - look for details to “surprise and delight” champions

  • Support Executive Director to ensure major donors are touched personally through year

  • Keep champions abreast of Mission Triangle’s initiatives, personalizing when possible

  • Ensure all champions are thanked for giving including writing and coordinate Thank-Yous (notes, calls, emails, etc)

  • Maintain champion records in CRM/Salesforce

Support Champion Cultivation

  • Create Investment Packets and Proposals, sometimes present and make “the ask”

  • Ensure investor presentations & materials are up-to-date in MS Teams

  • Manage reports of champion activities, dashboard, engagement and growth

  • Invite champions to engage beyond giving financially to Mission Triangle or our nonprofit community – sometimes helping match champions to the right cause

Plan Champion Events 

  • Lead, coordinate, plan and execute fundraising banquets

  • Support recruiting efforts for events and manage event sponsorship campaign

  • Coordinate and project manage champion involvement and sponsorships Shark Tank

  • Own end of year giving campaign and process

Manage Grants 

  • Coordinate calendar of grant submission deadlines & follow up dates

  • Write, apply for & manage all steps/processes in grant applications

  • Write, complete, coordinate grant update requests

  • Managing communication/coordination of matching grants

  • Maintain database of templates & messaging copy for grant applications


The Manager of Development Operations must be a follower of Jesus Christ. He/she must also be committed to growing as a nonprofit leader, learner, teacher, and coach. In addition, the following qualifications are desired in this role:

  • Agreement with the MT statement of faith, values, and core beliefs

  • Outstanding communications skills: Woo, warm and lover of people – pleasantly persistent… not afraid to “ask”

  • Former development or sales or customer engagement experience is preferred

  • Attentive to detail and highly organized

  • Takes initiative and naturally go above and beyond

  • Can juggle multiple priorities and responsibilities

  • Proficient with Excel, PPT, Salesforce

  • 4-year degree preferred


25 hours per week paid hourly, non-exempt; benefits include 401K

Working Conditions

The Manager of Development Operations is expected to work an average of 25 hours per week. The job is predominantly office-based and by necessity most hours are during core office hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Employee will need to be able to periodically lift 25-pound objects.
